Grass  - Poaceae

Beads made of a fine blond straw are elaborately twisted and plaited by the Fulani pastoralists of Central Mali.  The prepared straw is applied to a beeswax core.23

In India, when performing special religious rites widows must have rings of Kusha grass, Eragrostis cynosuroides, on the two ring fingers.  Married women are to wear rings made of Dura grass, Cynodon dactylon.24
