Choricarpia leptopetala  (F. Muell.) Domin Brown myrtle  - Myrtaceae

Native to parts of Australia, the brown myrtle, Choricarpia leptopetala, is a shrub or small tree that inhabits the margins of the rain forest.  It now grows in other suitable locations of the world.

Woody fruits contain many small seeds.  It is the fruits that African women use as beads in necklaces.
