Canarium album  (Lour.) Raeusch. Ð Chinese white olive  - Burseraceae

The three-sided nuts of the Chinese white olive, Canarium album, are often carved with images of the Buddha and used as prayer beads.  A native of Indo-China, the tree has been introduced to several southeast Asian countries because of its desirable fruit.  In Hawaii the fruits are imported from the Orient for their pulp, which is preserved and sold as sweet or sour candy.
